Mike Dell’s World #181 – On the road again

An update after so long away from THIS microphone.

I give you updates about what’s been going on over the last however long it was since the last podcast. I also made the decision to pull the plug on the Unplugged feed. That’s All Folks! I will be putting all my podcasts into the main feed at http://mikedell.com/feed/podcast/. The Radio Mike Dell feed will stay active to catch all the other podcasts I do and the Video feed will stay active although, I’m guessing I won’t be putting a lot in there. We will see.

Otherwise, it was a nice drive in the woods and good to get caught up!

Mike Dell Unplugged #50 – New Recorder

I just got and unboxed a Roland R-05 WAVE/MP3 Recorder
and this is the first recording out of the box without me reading any directions. This was recorded in the car on my errand run.

It seems a bit noisy but that might be ok.

I also talk about some other equipment I’m adding to the studio. I had a little trouble getting the Insert Cables hooked up between the Compressor/limiter/gate and the new Mixer.

After 18 years of employment with a company, I have become self-employed. It’s going to take me a month or so to get ramped up and ready for a full load of business but I’ve never felt more ready then I do right now. 2 days ago, I didn’t think I was ready but the hand of God slapped me up side the head and said ” Dummy, you are going the wrong way. Here, go this way”

Yes, this is #36. I took the 28 iPadio phonecasts I’ve done and added that to the 7 Mike Dell Unplugged episodes and came up with that number.

Just a quick update from my lunch hour at work. We are going camping this weekend over at the KOA in Gaylord Michigan.

I’m trying out a new audio recorder for Android and seeing if I can post it using only the phone.

It should sound better then my iPadio phone casts. I will use this instead.

Quick Audio Update – Testing the feed and a new mic setup

Just a quick update while walking around the house. I’m hoping this will only go out on the Unplugged feed but it *might* go out of both. Not sure how that is going to work. I will figure out how to separate the feeds if it does.

Also trying out my new Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 mic with my Sony portable recorder. I think it sounds great but I’m not a good judge of my own voice. (are any of us?)

I will have a full Mike Dell’s World podcast this week. I have some cool songs to play and some issues to talk about.

Mike Dell Unplugged – a new podcast?

YES, You are seeing double. I had to do this to get this episode into both feeds. Sorry for the confusion!

A new podcast? Well, sort of.

In Mike Dell’s World # 145 I asked was people thought of the current format of the show. Me talking, some music and the same stuff I’ve been doing for nearly 5 years. Some people thought the music was good, some thought the music was too much.

SO, this is what I’m going to do do for “unplugged”. This is going to be the feed where I do just voice. No Music, no sound effects and unedited. Just me chatting about whatever it is that’s on my mind. These episodes will will likely be shorter and can come out multipul times a week or maybe no times a week. I’m going to try to keep Mike Dell’s World (the main podcast) as it has been more or less weekly.

Hey, it's Mike here in the rain. Out camping at Ryans(?) Rudolph near Trevor City and of course as it always does when we go camping it's raining. You probably hear it. I'm sitting outside underneath my awning enjoying a cup of tea and figured I would go ahead and record a phone cast. Supposed to clear up here in a little bit. It doesn't matter we got a camper so we'll just sit inside drink coffee and shoot the breeze until it's time we can go out and go do something. Of course I'm always 6mi from home so I don't know might go sit in the recliner for a little while. That's wrapping it. Anyway, catch me later.

Well today up, did my website a little bit and I got a new video feed. Could have be pumping out some videos that I already got record and record some new ones with the flip or with the Android(?) phone here or any other sort of video device. Hello Mike here. I'm sitting at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on my way to McCallan(?) Texas. Of course I got a flight delay. So had a little time here to do an audio update via the phone. It's all going good other than this slight delay and it's a delay from the inbound aircraft. Not any delay to do with with the weather or anything between Dallas and McCallan(?). So anyway if I don't get in there till about 11:00. So it's about 40 minute delay which I guess is alright except for the plan is to get up as early tomorrow morning and start heading towards Grand Haven in your motor home. So we'll see how that all works out. I suppose get down there get settled get the van loaded and head north.

We're doing do a lot of clean up on my Facebook and you know locking sorting certain things down and all that you know cos of this Facebook policy change and in their light buttons they're throwing all over the internet. Just didn't wanna be part of that. So kinda locking things down a little bit to as usual you keep up with me best on Twitter. Hey Mike here 3:15 in the afternoon and just had to relay a story that just happened to me and I was sleeping in 3:00 in the afternoon and it's like 3:00 in the morning to you if you work day shift middle of my night. Anyway there's this light knocking at my back door dog going crazy but you know what I wasn't gonna bother answering the damn door I'm sleeping so I roll over over and try to go back to sleep and it's knock knock knock and this guy know on the door for about 15 minutes he still on and knock knock knock the dogs are going crazy finally I get up
