After making the decision to get a Siberian Husky puppy the next thing you are going to want to do is to do a little research into what kinds of things you can expect from your Siberian Husky puppy when you get it home. It is always good to be an informed owner and the responsible owner wants to learn as much about their new pet as possible so that they can attend to their pet's care needs as soon as anything may come up. Your vet and your breeder are two excellent sources for advice and other important information when it comes to the raising of your Siberian Husky puppies so if you ever find yourself in need of any information then do not hesitate to contact one of these two responsible folks for solid and useful advice. It is always good to have reliable resources when you are raising Siberian Husky puppies.
Siberian Husky puppies love to run so you will find that, especially as a puppy, your Siberian Husky is a very active and almost aggressive pet that loves to play and does not mind when playing gets a little rough. It may not be a great idea to have Siberian Husky puppies around small children as the puppies sometimes do not know when to stop rough housing around and that can become dangerous to small children. The dogs do calm with age but you still need to keep a close eye on them. Siberian Husky puppies also have a very thick coat and they will shed a great deal. You do not need to constantly trim or cut their coat but you do need to comb and brush them on a daily basis. The Husky is excellent at keeping its coat clean but the occasional bath would not be a bad thing as long as you use the Husky shampoo and not human shampoo.
It does not take long to realize that Siberian Husky puppies love food and if they are left to their own devices they will eat themselves into eating disorders and food related health problems. You need to regulate their food intake to maybe just once a day and do not leave any left over food out for them when they are not being fed. It is important to monitor their eating and make sure that they do not develop bad eating habits as Siberian Husky puppies that they will take into adulthood and turn into health issues. The Siberian Husky puppy is a very active pup that turns into a very wonderful pet that requires a lot of very specific kind of care and attention. If you have never owned a dog before then you may want to consider a breed other than the Siberian Husky as your first dog. They are a handful and they are a handful all of their lives.

The Siberian Husky puppy is essentially a pack animal and this is not surprising since he has for long been bred as a working dog, and Siberian Husky puppies are sure to grow up and live till at least twelve years of age, which means he is going to be your pet for a considerable period of time. The Siberian Husky puppy makes a very welcome addition to the family mainly because of its gentle and friendly nature and also because of its alertness and outgoing nature. Given their aversion to being left alone, there is good reason why you should bring home a pair of Siberian Husky puppies to provide them with some company.

The Siberian Husky puppy shows certain characteristics such as starting off at an early age as compact and strong, and who will go on to become a working dog. The Siberian Husky can have different colored coats including all black and pure white, often with a few different markings on the head as well. However, contrary to popular belief, Siberian Husky puppies can also have different colored eyes than the presumed blue eyes that are most associated with this breed of dog. Other characteristics commonly found in the Siberian Husky puppy are being gentle in his nature and also very playful, though often he can turn willful as well as become mischievous. In fact, the Siberian Husky will always remain a puppy at heart, though he is still very clever as well as sociable and even loving. In addition, you will also notice that Siberian Husky puppies to be easy going and generally very docile. Siberian Husky puppies are also very energetic and they are good when in the company of children and they will readily become friends even with complete strangers.
There is a certain intelligence in the Siberian Husky puppy that you may not find in other similar breeds, and this trait makes it easy to train the puppy. Even if he won’t make a great guard dog because of his friendly nature, he will learn the proper behavior and will generally obey the commands you have taught it during its training. However, during training, you will need to overcome his somewhat willful behavior and put up with his tendency to follow his inner thoughts and only obey commands that seem to make some sort of sense to him. However, even after training, you should ensure that you don’t leave your puppy on his own, because of his destructive bent of mind. Though the Siberian Husky puppy is not an animal that is given to much barking, he does love to howl, which takes some getting used to. He is also a puppy that can easily become bored, especially when left alone for sometime, because he would much rather spend time with the family and likes human company as is noticeable in how easily he makes friends with even complete strangers.
A noticeable facet to the Siberian Husky puppy is his relative lack of need to eat bowlfuls of food, and is less than voracious when it comes to putting down whole meals. In fact, the puppy is frugal when it comes to eating and will easily be satisfied with less food than is the case with other medium sized breeds. However, he will spend a lot of time in exploring his surroundings and being active; will require being taken out for exercising for an hour in the day. Unless he is especially well trained in obeying your every command, it is not wise to let Siberian Husky puppies to be taken out without being leashed because he may easily wander off somewhere without coming back to you. In addition, he likes the cold climates and will not relish being left in the sunlight and in fact must be given a shady place where he can play and rest, and even an air conditioned room may be required to keep him comfortable and happy. Even though, generally, Siberian Husky puppies do not fall ill too easily, it is still necessary to check that he does not have hip dysplasia, or juvenile cataract or other common diseases that may affect him. For more information related to understanding Siberian Husky puppies better, you can go through this article. Because Siberian Husky puppies are so lovable and also extremely beautiful to look at, and thus invite being given some very descriptive Siberian Husky puppy names.

You can find a Siberian Husky puppy for sale on many websites, in newspapers and magazines and sometimes at the vet. Many dog breeders advertise their puppies on websites like Next Day Pets or Breeders. NET. These are the websites where you can find quality breeders looking for loving homes for their puppies. The websites do not take any responsibility of the puppies. No puppies are prescreened and there is no guarantee for the breeders listed either. So you definitely need references before you make a purchase from any of these websites. Since it is relatively easy to find a new Siberian Husky puppy for sale on the net, it is important for you to decide if a soft and warm Siberian Husky puppy is the right pet for your family. These websites have lists of various dogs of the same breed, kennels, adult dogs and plenty of information and pictures of all of them. When you are checking the list of dog breeders, their addresses are generally given. Choose only the dog breeders nearest to your home. You can then meet him and have discussions with him, without traveling a long distance every time. Besides, you may need the breeder even after you have bought the Siberian Husky puppy from him. After evaluation of the dog breeder and getting all the necessary information about the Siberian Husky breed from him, you can make your decision. The purchase contract is between you and the dog breeder, and the website has nothing to do with it. A Siberian Husky puppy for sale should be vet checked, vaccinated, wormed and socialized. Sometimes the puppies have been given their first dose of preventatives already, and the dog breeder is often prepared to give a five-year health guarantee for the puppy. In this way you can be sure that the dog breeder has taken care to prepare the puppies for moving into a new home. The pictures of the Siberian Husky puppy for sale give a clear idea about the color of its coat and sometimes even videos are shown. If the puppy has been bred at home, it must have undergone temperament testing and the other health tests. These details are often mentioned in the advertisement. Other details include breed registrations, the parents of the puppy, especially if they have won any championships. Also pet supplies are mentioned sometimes, so that the useful stuff that you immediately need for the new pet can be bought there. These could include articles like crates, beds or toys and even dog food. Besides, the dog breeder often likes to know the particulars of the prospective buyer. The puppy should be loved and cared in the same way as it is with the dog breeder, and grow up as a part of the family. So, he has the right to ask you his questions, so that he is satisfied that the puppy is going into a well-loved home. The dog breeders give a lot of importance to the health of the Siberian Husky puppies, because that is what the prospective buyer is looking for. Information about Siberian Husky puppy supplies is also given by the dog breeder to the buyer.

Now that you have finally made the decision to start looking at different Siberian Husky puppies for sale in order to find the new addition to your home and family, you need to educate yourself on the pros and cons to the different places in which you can find puppies. While they may seem all on the up and up, there may be such major warning signs to watch out for. By just taking that little bit of extra time and thought, you are going to be able to get the deal that you deserve and you will not be taken advantage of. By asking yourself a few quick questions while you are looking at the puppies or the dealer, you may very well be able to catch onto something that just does not appear to be right and you can either walk away and find someone else or if the case calls for it, report them to the proper authorities. If looking to the Internet to find Siberian Husky puppies for sale there are several factors that you need to consider. The fact of the matter is that for every good breeder that is on the Internet, there are probably ten more who are looking to scam you. It is very possible that you are not being given all of the information you need in order to make an informed decision. When looking at breeders who are too far away for you to travel to them, you really are not aware of what their current living situation is. You have no way of telling whether or not they are truly being taken care of. While the Internet is full of a lot of options that you may not have in your local area right at the moment, it may be vital to wait until there is a breeder with pups available in your area so you can go view them for yourself.
And there is always the option of the pet store, as at least there you are able to view the puppy in person and in most cases even get to play with the puppy a little. When looking for Siberian Husky puppies for sale though, this may not a location that has a lot of these available, or at least not in most areas of the country. While it may be true that the puppies are being well cared for at the pet store, they often cannot give any insight to the puppies past. This can lead to a lot of problems since you still do not know where the puppy originally came from. Just as if you were purchasing your puppy from the Internet, you still do not have much of an idea about its history. But on the bright side, you are able to interact with it right then and there and the puppy's behavior then could be a good indication of how it will behave in the future. Siberian Husky puppies are among the cutest of the puppies available but more then cuteness needs to be considered when looking at puppies for sale. Siberian Husky puppy care is extremely important to consider when looking at all of the different puppies for sale on the Internet and other places.

Siberian Husky Breeders Love Their Puppies

Buy a Siberian Husky puppy from a reputable and knowledgeable Siberian Husky breeder. Breeders advertise to sell their puppies, but you should interview them and find out about them before you make your purchase. On the other hand the breeders are also choosy about their buyers and like to make sure that their puppies are going into good homes. The pet shop is the wrong place to buy a Siberian Husky puppy. Pet shops are a profit-making organization, and do not have any personal contact with the animals. The dog breeder is actively involved with the puppy and cares for its well being. The Siberian Husky breeder has the expertise of breeding dogs and with every generation the genetic problems and temperament disorders can be reduced. Pet shop puppies are bought cheap and their parents are often not screened for genetic diseases.

You can buy Siberian Husky puppies either by putting in an advertisement asking for one, or by looking out for some breeder's advertisement who is selling them. A Siberian Husky breeder is generally fussy about selling his puppies, because he wants to make sure that the puppy gets a good home. So the breeders generally have many questions for the prospective buyers to check out their knowledge of the breed. As a prospective owner of a Siberian Husky puppy you should take it from a reputable and good Siberian Husky breeder. Have proper discussions with him to check out whether the puppy is purebred so that you know whether the breeder is good and knowledgeable, and ask people around you whether he is known. A good breeder will guarantee your puppy, because he cares for his reputation and his profession involves some commitment. He will be ready to give you advice about training the dog and would like to keep in touch with you, just to make sure that you are looking after the puppy well. If you are not satisfied with the puppy after buying it, or you are having some problems with it, the Siberian Husky breeder will be ready to take it back. But if you buy your puppy from a pet shop, pet shop owners will not care about your problems. Pet shops are only interested in the money, and the dog is treated like any other product. A Siberian Husky breeder, on the other hand is looking for improvements in the breed as he is breeding dogs. He tries to correct genetic illnesses and even improve temperament when breeding. The Siberian Husky breeder is also interested in your knowledge of the breed and makes sure that you know that the Siberian Husky is not a guard dog, and that it has a high prey instinct. The pet shops do not show any interest in the buyer's knowledge of the breed. They are just happy to sell their puppies, and do not want to have anything to do with it after that. The Siberian Husky breeder has much more knowledge about the dog than a pet shop owner, who is dealing with a variety of pets. After all, the pet shop owner is not a dog breeder; he is buying dogs from the cheapest supplier. Often the parents of the puppies which are supplied to the pet stores have not been screened for any genetic diseases. At the moment there is a list of health problems which are becoming common in Siberians, because the breeders are not taking care to screen their animals before breeding. Most owners are not very concerned about show quality, working quality or genetically tested dogs. All Siberian Huskies are not show dogs or working dogs. But if you are a genuine lover of purebred dogs, quality will be of importance and the breed will improve if care is taken during breeding. There will be fewer genetic problems and temperament disorders, if you rely on a good dog breeder and just not buy a Siberian Husky off the shelf in a pet shop. The pet shop is not an ideal place to buy a Siberian Husky puppy. Siberian Husky breeders are a better choice, because they have a better knowledge and understanding of the breed. Siberian Husky information is available in this article to make it easier for you to buy a puppy.

Siberian Husky Breeders Worth Avoiding

If a Siberian husky breeder is not listed with a breeder registry then ask why. Ask your vet and local law enforcement about Siberian husky breeders you are considering. You can find out if a Siberian husky breeder is bad by asking local animal rescue groups.

Deciding that you are getting a Siberian Husky as your next family pet is one part of the process but the most difficult part of the process is finding the right Siberian husky breeder to get your dog from. You need to start using all of the resources available to you to weed out the breeders that are nothing but trouble and you need to do this as the responsible owner to a future Siberian Husky. Taking your time and eliminating the bad breeders is what a good breeder would expect you to do and something a bad breeder will fear that you will do. A breeder registry is an organization that sets breeding standards for the members that list with it. If you are talking to a breeder that is not listed with a breeder registry then you may not want to be buying your dog from that breeder. A breeder that is not listed with a registry is using his or her own breeding standards and that can be risky.
You should never underestimate the valuable information you can find with your vet when it comes to selecting the right Siberian husky breeder. Discuss your potential breeder choices with your vet and see if they recognize any names to avoid. If you have not chosen a vet yet then the process of selecting a breeder is the perfect time to start a discussion with a vet, as they will be just as interested in your pet's good health and well being as you are. You could do yourself a big favor by speaking with local law enforcement about your choices for Siberian husky breeders as well and see if any of the breeders you are considering are familiar to the law at all. If you have a breeder on your list that has a bad reputation with local law enforcement then you probably want to remove that breeder from your list.
The local animal rescue groups are always in tune with what is good and bad about the different animal breeders in your area. You may want to run your list of potential Siberian husky breeders by the local animal rescue groups and see if any of the names on there stand out to them as bad or not. The animal rescue groups spend most of their time trying to help solve the situations that would require their services so they are sure to point you in the right direction. If you do not feel comfortable talking to a particular Siberian husky breeder then do not do business with that breeder. The relationship between breeder and owner needs to be an open and comfortable relationship because you will be in touch with them for many years to come so make sure you take your time and use all of the resources at your disposal to make the right decision. If you want to avoid bad Siberian husky breeders then use this article.

Check to see if the breeder you are talking to is a Siberian Husky breeder listed with a national breeder registry. You can expect advice and care instructions from a good Siberian Husky breeder. If your Siberian Husky breeder offers free pet insurance then they may be reputable.

The relationship between breeder and owner is very important so when you decide it is time to get a Siberian Husky for a pet you want to be sure to choose a reputable Siberian Husky breeder. There are ways to check and see if you are getting a reputable Siberian Husky breeder and those ways are simple to follow. It is really important when you consider that if you do not check out your breeder you could be asking for years of problems with your pet and you do not want to put your family through that. All good breeders are listed with a national breeder registry and subscribe to the breeding standards of that registry. Breeding standards are developed through years of experience and research and if you are talking to a breeder that does not subscribe to a standard then you may be talking to a fake Siberian Husky breeder and that is not what you want to be doing.
Aside from your vet your relationship with your Siberian Husky breeder is very important to the health and well being of your dog. If you begin talking with a prospective Siberian Husky breeder and they do not seem to like to offer advice and support after the sale is over then that is probably not the breeder for you. A good breeder knows that they will be there for years to come and if that is not the feeling you get from the breeder you are talking to then it is time to move on. When you leave with your new dog a good breeder will send you home with care and feeding instructions so you know how to take care of your new dog and offer the best for your new dog. You should also plan on leaving with a food sample as well, so you know what to feed your dog. If the breeder you are talking to does not offer these things then move on.

Rescue Center Information From Siberian Husky Breeders

Part of the Spitz family, Siberian Huskies descended from sledding dogs used by Eskimos in the Arctic regions. Today's Siberian Husky breeder breeds these dogs more for show than sledding. Siberian Huskies have specific behavioral traits as well as physical traits. Some can be deciding points on whether or not a potential owner buys a purebred. The first question a potential Siberian Husky buyer needs to ask is if a Siberian Husky is right for the family.

Siberian Huskies have an ancestry that dates back five thousand years. Part of the Spitz family, these dogs descended from sledding dogs used by Eskimos in the Arctic regions. Eskimo Siberian Husky breeders selectively bred huskies and, due to each Siberian Husky breeder being geographically isolated huskies maintained their close resemblance to wolves. Siberian Huskies were mainly used as sledding dogs and hunting companions. They required very little food for their level of activity and their high endurance allowed them to run for hours through packed snow while pulling a moderately sized load. The American Kennel Club recognized the Siberian Husky as a breed in 1930. Since that time, huskies have been used more for show than sledding. However, the breed retains wolf-like physical and behavioral traits. Typical Siberian Husky characteristics include high-set, pointed ears, thick, double coats of fur, a furry, sickle-shaped tail, and wolf-like personality traits such as stubbornness, independence and suspicion. Siberian Huskies have distinctive facial markings, medium sized compact bodies, and blue or brown eyes (or one of each color). The American Kennel Club has many other breed standard characteristics required for Siberian Huskies to participate in competition. These include a height requirement of twenty-one to twenty-three and one half inches tall for males and twenty to twenty-two inches tall for females, a weight requirement of forty-five to sixty pounds for males and thirty-five to fifty pounds for females, mandatory physical characteristics such as a scissors-bite (upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth), and performance characteristics such as a smooth, effortless gait and an outgoing personality. The AKC does not disqualify the Siberian Husky for certain pigmentation issues that would disqualify other breeds such as bi-colored or parti-colored eyes and "snow-nose" in which part is black and part is flesh-colored. The AKC states that coloring is not important in pulling a sled. A good Siberian Husky breeder retains both the breed standard traits and good health and behavioral traits in their huskies. Like other larger dogs, huskies can be prone to hip dysplasia and a good breeder will not breed dogs with this issue. There are many other health and behavioral traits common to huskies that Siberian Husky breeders must watch for and educate potential buyers about. Finding a good Siberian Husky breeder can be difficult. There are a number of questions buyers will need to ask of breeders once they locate them to make sure they are reputable. Buyers also want to make sure that breeders ask them adequate questions. Buyers should ask the following questions of Siberian Husky breeders:
Can I visit your kennel to make sure it is clean and appropriate? Can I meet the parents of the puppy? (the mother should be on-site/the father may not be) Have puppies and parents been screened for genetic defects? Is there a pedigree? (there should be a lengthy pedigree for any purebred puppy) Can you tell me about the breed? (breeders should be experts) Are you affiliated with rescue centers? (breeders should refer buyers to rescue animals) What are common husky health/behavioral problems? (breeders should educate buyer) How do I train/care for/discipline my husky? Is there a warranty? Good breeders will take the dog back if the buyer cannot keep the dog rather than see the dog go to a shelter. Professional breeders will also quiz potential owners to weed out unqualified, unrealistic or unprepared buyers. Siberian Husky breeders do not sell to pet stores or to just any buyer.
Reputable Siberian Husky Breeders

Siberian Huskies were brought to Alaska to compete in sled races in 1909. The Siberian Husky is a purebred dog recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as a breed in 1930. Siberian Husky breeders are knowledgeable of breed traits and the importance of sharing them with potential dog owners. An unaware husky buyer will most likely end up giving away or abandoning their dog due to not being able to handle it. Reputable Siberian Husky breeders will inform potential buyers about the behavioral traits of the Siberian Husky.

The Siberian Husky is considered to be one the of the fourteen most ancient dog breeds in the world. This breed, which is part of the larger "Spitz" dog family, has ancestry that dates back five thousand years. These dogs, along with the Alaskan Malamute and Samoyed are directly descended from the Eskimo dog and were used throughout history as sled dogs. Like other members of the Spitz group, Siberian Huskies have physical characteristics adapted to living in a harsh climate. They have two coats of fur a soft, dense undercoat that is waterproof and provides insulation and a longer, coarser topcoat that provides additional production from the elements. Siberian Huskies also have the triangular, erect ears, curled, furry tail and distinctive markings common to the Spitz family. Siberian Husky breeders follow the breed standard set by the American Kennel Club. Siberian Huskies used for competition must meet these criteria. Some of the required characteristics include brown or blue eyes (or one of each color), distinctive facial markings including masks or spectacle patterns not seen in other breeds, and a well-furred tail carried in a "sickle" curve over the back when alert and trailing when at rest. Other characteristics required by the American Kennel Club include a height of twenty-one to twenty-three and one half inches for males and twenty to twenty-one inches tall for females, a weight of forty-five to sixty pounds for males) and thirty-five to fifty pounds for females, a scissors-bite (upper teeth closely overlapping lower teeth), a smooth gait, a friendly, alert and mischievous expression and an outgoing personality. The AKC does not disqualify the Siberian Husky for certain traits that would disqualify other breeds. These include bi-colored eyes, and "snow-nose" or a hyper-pigmentation of the nose in which part is black and part is flesh-colored. The reason the AKC does not disqualify the husky is that coloring is not seen as being important in pulling a sled. Siberian Husky breeders try to retain both the attractive and utilitarian characteristics of the breed. Because of the breed's natural tendency to be extremely active, huskies are not recommended for everyone. Breeders will tell you that there are high numbers of Siberian Huskies sitting in shelters and rescue centers because owners did not research the breed and could not handle their dogs once grown into adulthood. The most common, problematic behavioral traits of huskies are a tendency to run or escape, excessive howling, hyperactivity, inability to be left alone, stubbornness and shedding. Finding good Siberian Husky breeders should begin in a northern climate. This breed is made for cold weather and potential owners and breeders should not reside in hot climates. Huskies can withstand negative fifty-degree temperatures and can suffer heatstroke in high temperatures. Word of mouth, Internet searches, local veterinarians, and shelters are all good starting points for locating good, local Siberian Husky breeders. It is never acceptable to buy a dog of any breed from a pet store. A medium to large dog like the Siberian Husky should not be caged or treated as merchandise that is shipped and sold to just anyone. Good Siberian Husky breeders will have a list of questions for potential buyers to answer. They will want to ensure the owner is knowledgeable of how to care for Siberian Huskies and they will offer to provide specific Siberian Husky information. Breeders may also run or be affiliated with Siberian Husky rescue centers and they may refer buyers there to buy, foster, or adopt purebred Huskies rescued from inadequate living conditions. Siberian Husky breeders can educate potential owners on adequate training and care of huskies.
