There have been many reports of wifi and push notofication issues after the iPhone 3.1.2 jailbreak with blackra1n and unlock with blacksn0w.

Plus, there has also been issues with Youtube and GPS after the 3.1.2 jailbreak.

But, we are in luck as iPhoneil has released a ‘Push Fix & Youtube’ and is now available in Cydia.

Disable Wifi before you start
Just add the iPhoneil repository to your Cydia sources – http://cydia.iphoneil.net. Search for Push Fix & Youtube and install it.
Now, reboot your iPhone and enable WiFi.
Reboot your iPhone again

Looks like this patch fixes the wifi & Youtube issues after the jailbreak/unlock with blackra1n & blacksn0w.

“Too much noise” was one of the complaints held against Google Wave. Now Google is starting to introduce concepts of following and unfollowing Wave documents. Now, you need to click Follow to make a public wave remain in your inbox with its updates; previously, that was the default behavior. Muting on the other hand, which was available before, is now consequently renamed to unfollowing. You will still be auto-following Wave docs to which others have added you, though.

Furthermore, Google says they’re also thinking about expanding Wave so that that the following of people may become an option. Doing so would open up yet another use case for Wave which was still missing, namely the one of “opt-in” group-messaging tools like Friendfeed and Blogger.

Last week the Google Apps for Education team headed to Denver for EDUCAUSE 2009 where the higher education community meets annually. It was at this conference three years ago that we first unveiled Google Apps for Education. Since then, we've witnessed staggering growth in the world of cloud computing in education. Lots has happened over the past year especially: more than 100 new features have rolled out in Google Apps, we've engaged well over six million students and faculty (a 400% increase since this time last year), launched free Google Message Security for K-12 schools and have integrated with other learning services such as Blackboard and Moodle.

These developments are just the beginning. According to the newly-released 2009 Campus Computing survey statistics, 44% of colleges and universities have converted to a hosted student email solution, while another 37% are currently evaluating the move. Of those that have migrated, over half — 56% precisely* — are going Google.

To toast the students and faculty that are shaping this movement, we hosted our customers and EDUCAUSE conference attendees at the Denver Public Library. Check out the photos to see what these schools have to say:

We also did something different this year and invited some student ambassadors from schools using Google Apps to come to Denver and share how using Apps on campus helps make their lives easier. Daniel Miller who works at University of Washington's Ethnic Cultural Center uses Calendar to let students on campus know about his organization's events. Sociology major Robin Brown uses forms in Docs to collect data for her class surveys at Notre Dame. Taylor Bell at Boise State relies on Gmail's filters and gadgets to seamlessly access to his Calendar, Docs, Tasks and Chat. After losing his journal, Vaughn Parker at Temple University created a Calendar to keep track of his assignments and share them with his classmates and professors. (There are many more of these student stories, too).

Twitter 裏其中讓消息流傳得最快的，是一項叫 Retweet (RT) 的發文格式 (華文網友稱此做「回推」或「銳推」，也譯得精妙)，這個格式並非由官方發明，而是由用家們自行衍生出來。通常就是看到其他人的 Tweet，覺得很值得將這個 Tweet 回傳下去，就會用「RT @user: xxxxx」的格式發一個 Tweet。很多的 Twitter Client 也支持這種格式，所以只消幾個按鈕就可以 RT 了。

RT 成為 Twitter 的重要資訊，在茫茫 Tweet 流中更顯重要。它讓重要的訊息能自我增幅，在網絡遊走散佈，傳播力強，只消幾個 RT 訊息能傳到很多人那裏。通過分析 RT，亦能看到有甚麼訊息最流行，最多人談論，哪些人是意見領袖等等。配合 Twitter 的實時架構，我們竟然真能一竀網絡正在發生甚麼事，而不至於在資訊洪流中無奈地淹沒。RT 也使 Twitter 有別於其他如 Plurk、Facebook 的社交網絡。

Twitter 的 140 字短小精桿的特質，有利小單位訊息靈活遊走，但也成為 RT 的硬傷。同一段訊息幾經 RT 後，其首段會變成一串「 RT @user1: RT @user2: RT @user3… 」，若從資訊結構分析，這些都是原來訊息的元數據 (metadata)，記述了 RT 足跡。問題是這些元數據佔了字數，令原來訊息不夠位置放。用家往往在 RT 時發覺超過了字數限制，就得修輯訊息，可能是修改 RT 串，也可能將原 Tweet 修短，兩者也帶來訊息流失。再者，因為 RT 的運作是基於最簡單的 copy and paste，所以也不能保證原 Tweet 沒有被人修改。而即使被人修改了，也難以追踪。另外也有其他如 RT 洗版、濫用等問題。

官方 Twitter 也察覺到 RT 的重要性，會正式支持 RT 功能。他們明白現行「人手 RT」(他們稱為organic retweet) 方法會令數據紛亂，所以官方 RT 會：

確保原 Tweet 不會被修改
將 RT 足跡這些元數據分開來儲存，並隱藏起來
確保同一條 RT 不會在用戶 timeline 上重複出現
讓用戶可關閉某人的 RT

這樣子，被 RT 的訊息就有了一個明確的身份，而不是成千成百的變種。資料被結構化後，確保了 RT 的原汁原味之餘，也留有明確的足跡，更易追踪。在這裏，可以更準確抽出有趣的統計資料，如最多人 RT 的訊息、被 RT 最多的人等等。另外，官方 RT 也避免了重複和垃圾的問題。

雖然如此，這官方 RT 卻不支持「留言」。用戶在人手 RT 時，有時會加上自己小小的意見再發出去。而官方 RT 因為沒有修改這回事，所以也不能新加留言。在此官方發言說，即使新 RT 出台，用戶仍可使用人手 RT 方法來傳遞訊息。這意味著未來在 Twitter 裏，我們會看到新舊兩隻格式的 RT 互相混搭 (如用官方 RT 接續一條人手 RT)。第三方開發固然可以由官方 RT 提取更準確的資料，但也似乎不能放棄字串分析舊有人手 RT 資料。而其他 Twitter 用戶端又會如何實作這個新 RT 功能？讓新舊格式並存？用戶會不會搞亂？會多人使用新 RT 功能嗎？

這個新 RT 方案，可算是 Twitter 誕生以來最大的改動，也可見 Twitter 的野心，一心想將 RT 機制完美化，使得來的資料更有用。試想 RT 其實就是類似一人一票的訊息推薦，換做 Google 的話效果近似於 Pagerank。為了「完美」，Twitter 也不惜要改變用戶習慣，使他們 timeline 出現陌生人，也沒有得留言。在新舊格式同樣通行的情況下，新 RT 會帶來新境象，還是破壞了 Twitter 的精簡「傳統」，產生混亂？

I would appreciate it if google changed the name of this language; as I do not want to have to change my language!

More specifically, Francis’ language is called “Go!” (with an exclamation mark), and his book is self-published at Lulu. I get the feeling no one should be able to “reserve” a normal word for their product/ invention/ programming language and then block others from using it in the future – what are your thoughts?

Some smart Google engineers decided that it's time to address the limitations of C and C++ by designing a new programming language: Go.

Go was born out of frustration with existing languages and environments for systems programming. Programming had become too difficult and the choice of languages was partly to blame. One had to choose either efficient compilation, efficient execution, or ease of programming; all three were not available in the same mainstream language. Programmers who could were choosing ease over safety and efficiency by moving to dynamically typed languages such as Python and JavaScript rather than C++ or, to a lesser extent, Java.

Go is an attempt to combine the ease of programming of an interpreted, dynamically typed language with the efficiency and safety of a statically typed, compiled language. It also aims to be modern, with support for networked and multicore computing. Finally, it is intended to be fast: it should take at most a few seconds to build a large executable on a single computer. To meet these goals required addressing a number of linguistic issues: an expressive but lightweight type system; concurrency and garbage collection; rigid dependency specification; and so on. These cannot be addressed well by libraries or tools; a new language was called for. [Language design FAQ]

Google has released a new programming language called Go. Google wants to offer a couple of benefits from their language: fast compilation, easy analyzing of dependencies, static types that nevertheless feel more lightweight compared to some other languages, and multi-core machine support.

Go is not (not yet anyway) an approved official Google-internal language, but apparently more of an experiment for "adventurous users", started in September 2007 by Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike and Ken Thompson. The motivation for a new language is explained at the Go site:

Go is an attempt to combine the ease of programming of an interpreted, dynamically typed language with the efficiency and safety of a statically typed, compiled language. Finally, it is intended to be fast: it should take at most a few seconds to build a large executable on a single computer. Why doesn't Go offer generic types? Google explains that the language does not offer them yet, but that they may well be added at some point. The site says:

Generics are convenient but they come at a cost in complexity in the type system and run-time. We haven't yet found a design that gives value proportionate to the complexity, although we continue to think about it. Meanwhile, Go's built-in maps and slices, plus the ability to use the empty interface to construct containers (with explicit unboxing) mean in many cases it is possible to write code that does what generics would enable, if less smoothly.

This remains an open issue.

Here's a bit of Go code to give you an idea, and much more is explained in Google's tutorials. I've just copied some syntax samples into this bit of code, not to create a compilable valid program but for the sake of showing off some of the := declaration syntax, the "missing" if and for brackets, the use of semi-colons as separators but not terminators (the tutorial code seems to be inconsequential about this, or I'm missing something), the implicit break in the switch statement and more:

Dun & Bradstreet analyzed thousands of companies that had gone broke over the years and concluded that the number-one reason for business failure was “low sales.” When they researched further, they found that the number-one reason for business success was “high sales.” And all else was commentary.

Key Number

The most important number in business is cash flow. Cash flow is to the business as blood and oxygen are to the brain. You can have every activity working efficiently in your business, but if your cash flow is cut off for any reason, the business can die, sometimes overnight.

Key Goal

Every business must have a growth plan. Growth must be the goal of all your business activities. You should have a goal to grow 10 percent, 20 percent, or even 30 percent each year. Some companies grow 50 percent and 100 percent per year, and not by accident. The only real growth is profit growth. Profit growth is always measurable in what is called “free cash flow.” This is the actual amount of money that the business throws off each month, each quarter, and each year, above and beyond the total cost and expense of running a business.

Action Exercise

You should have a growth plan for the number of new leads you attract and for the number of new customers you acquire from those leads. You should have a growth plan for sales, revenues, and profitability. If you do not deliberately plan for continuous growth, you will automatically stagnate and begin to fall behind. Growth is not an accident; so you must plan and map out your growth plan if you want your business to see a bright future.
