AM Business Connection is an effective business-to-business speed networking program designed for the busy professional.

The Schedule:
7:30-7:45 a.m. - Breakfast/Networking
7:45-8 a.m. - Welcome
8-10:15 a.m. - Speed Networking Rounds

What is speed networking?
We'll start with 49 people. There will be seven people per table. Each person will have two minutes to talk about his/her business. Participants will rotate through eight 14-minute rounds.

Make sure to bring at least 50 business cards.

To ensure the most return out of your investment, registration is limited to one person per company.

We are honored to welcome guest speaker Tom Loveless, a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution in Washington , D.C. and member of the Task Force on K-12 Education at Stanford University ’s Hoover Institution. His topic is: “How are public school students really performing? A global perspective of education standards and accountability.”

A former classroom teacher, Loveless’s research focuses on education policy and the politics of educational reform. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1992, Loveless joined the faculty of Harvard University ’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he served as both assistant and associate professors of public policy until 1999. Loveless currently serves on advisory boards of the American Journal of Education and Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. Since 2004, Loveless has represented the United States at the General Assembly of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement.

Sponsored by Metro Homelessness Commission and Nashville Chamber Public Benefit Foundation, Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is a one-day, one-stop event to provide people experiencing homelessness with access to a broad range of services, including medical and foot care, dental screenings, legal services, employment assistance, pet care, food, shoes and haircuts. The event also helps participants contact lost families and obtain identification and applications for housing opportunities.

Last year, a collaboration of more than 50 service providers and 300 volunteers provided 5,500 services to at least 1,075 homeless individuals and families. PHC makes a powerful impact on homeless people’s lives by providing a wide variety of assistance in one location, and by the outpouring of respect and hospitality from service providers and volunteers.

This year we plan to serve more homeless people, provide additional services and use more than 500 volunteers at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Community volunteers will be needed in shifts from 7:30am-12pm, 11am-3:30pm and 2:30pm-6pm.
