Here’s Kelis’ first “comeback” single, “Acapella.” And by the sounds of this, the new mom is going in the direction of straight dance, no urban. Thisis50 posted video of 50 and Eminem (along with Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg and others) sharing downtime at the rehearsals for last night’s American Music Awards. Fif narrates, Em doesn’t address the camera, but its still nice to see the lowkey footage. Now it woulda been really interesting if they had also shot 50’s immediate reaction to Hov’s acceptance speech later on that night…But I’m sure we’ll hear a measured response soon.

We went for a mad scientist theme as Juelz mixes up his potion while living in an underground laboratory. The best performance of the AMAs was Lady Gaga’s flaming piano in a box, in my humble opinion. Worst? That was probably a tie between Shakira’s drumline, Rihanna’s wooden, Jeezy-less “Hard,” and Fergie’s sour notes.

But while the core AMA viewership was probably still giddy about all of Taylor Swift’s wins….hip hop fans were debating Hov’s very deliberate Favorite Rap Artist acceptance speech…

Which ended with: “Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t,” and a sardonic laugh.

Now I’m pretty sure Hov has repeated his line at other award shows…but is this a jab at 50’s <200k first week sales projections?

After the jump…the other “big” moment of the AMA’s was when Jennifer Lopez was dancing and slipped and fell for a split second. So friggin’ what.

I also don’t get why this guy is such a big deal…He’s got a notable look, I like the glam rock image. But this was meh…even with his simulated fellatio act.

50 Cent went on a BISD promotional assault unlike any I’ve seen since…well, since Hov and Blueprint 3. They didn’t make the same stops, but certainly the volume is similar. 1) The 50 Cent x Funkmaster Flex interview was most amusing to me, because Flex knows how to nudge 50 to the edge of appropriateness (or past?). Mikey: A few hours ago on Philly’s Power 99 radio station, DJ Cosmic Kev broke two more Jay-Z diss tracks by Beanie Sigel, while AHH reported one of the songs only contains one line going at Jay , “Back down Jigga/put my nuts on that n**as neck,” Sigel raps on the first, unnamed track. The other track titled, “How I Can Kill Jigga Man” is obviously an entire ”freestyle” attacking Shawn Carter, over Cypress Hill’s “How I Could Just Kill a Man”, Sigel raps…

“Take over/n***a the breaks over/fraud emcee/he Jay Hova/Hey little soldier you aint ready for the rude boy/quick to pull the tool boy.”

“You aint gonna say nothing boy?” Sigel says at the end of the song taunting Jay-Z. “Damn, I thought you was the boy, boy. You aint nothing but a boy, boy boy. I aint gonna stop boy.”

Bdot/RR went to Best Buy in Union Square to see the Doctor and Jimmy Iovine promote their latest Beats by Dre hardware, and I believe Diplo, David Guetta and the Monster Cable suits were on hand too. Sadly, Bdot reports that Iovine blocked Dre from answering any 50 vs Game questions, but that’s not surprising. They were there to shill, lol.
