Our fourth festival went off amazingly well! This time around we partnered with Hoodoo Adventures, dubbing it the Adrenaline Fest' and running with a Rock Climbing + Mountain Biking theme. Checking in from Cache Creek (of all places). This morning's Garnet Fire Interpretive Center trail-day went extremely well! Brent, Dino, Gary, John, Michelle, Pierre and I set upon finishing the trail that we'd begun last fall, managing to get it to about "80% complete". It looks like one more short day of trail touch-ups, installation of a man-gate at the parking lot and relocation of the existing trail-head signage and the new route will be ready for prime time! Today I went up and hiked what was once an access road from the Beaverdell Rd. down to the Ellis Canyon & Canyon Rim singletrack trail. Met with Summerland Parks Dept. today; they are onboard with sanctioning & signing the Mt.Conkle trail! This looks to be a long-term project, and won't see the light of day until this Fall, but it has to start somewhere; this is the beginning of more legit trails in the Summerland area.

Met with BC Parks officials today and hammered out a tentative agreement for the South Okanagan Trail Alliance (and thus, PACA) to sign a five-year park use agreement. In 2012 PACA had determined that they wanted to sign a basic "Intro' to the Mice" route for new-ish riders and tourists alike. The suggestion was the Lookout Loop (aka; "The Ashtray). So morons-ahoy have taken to leaving garbage at the old north parking lot entry. The odds of catching them and ripping their nuts off in a vise... are slim, so I figure that the "right thing to do" is to throw it all in the back of a pickup and bring it down to the garbage dump. Also at last night's Council meeting (Oct. 1), Councillor Judy Sentes gave a report on the recent meeting she attended with PIDA (Penticton Industrial Development Association). PIDA has continued concerns over the Government Street Bike Lanes. PIDA would like to be included in future planning of these bike lanes.
