A new mobile app update available at iTunes App Store or Google Play. In the mobile app the new “Smart Pen” will make it much easier to sketch with. If you sketch a circle it will be able to turn the rough circle into a real circle for example.

AutoCAD 2013 SP2 is now available to download here. You don’t need to install earlier SP before installing SP2. If you have AutoCAD LT 2013 the download is here.

I and other beta testers have used SP2 for some time but if you don’t want to be the first to run into any unexpected problems you might want to wait a few weeks. (remember SP1 that quickly was replaced by SP1.1) Other than that there are a lot of fixes in SP2 making it worth installing.

This Service Pack can be applied to AutoCAD 2013 installed as a standalone application as well as AutoCAD 2013 installed from the following Autodesk Design Suites.

As a result of detailed information from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:

3D Navigation Tools

Occasional crash related to navigation tools.

Occasional crash when opening AutoCAD with the InfoCenter off.

Occasional crash when clicking a block table grip with only one row of values available.

Crash when switching Input Method Editor (IME) after canceling a command when DYNMODE is set to 0 and the command window is docked.

DGN Support

Fatal error when scrolling the DGN linetype in the Properties Palette.

Dimensions

Occasional crash when grip-editing annotative dimensions.

External Reference (XREF)

An OLE Object in an xref was not correctly set before the xref was detached. This crash issue has been resolved by opening the xref before erasing it.

MLEADER

Occasional crash when using MATCHPROP with multileaders.

OLE

Occasional crash when closing the application with a drawing that contains an OLE object.

OPTIONS

Occasional crash when changing or switching profiles in Options.

Plot

Occasional crash when plotting with a wipeout in the drawing.

PDF Underlay

Crash when specifying other PDF file from Saved Path field in External Reference palette.

General

Occasional crash when opening AutoCAD drawings in Windows 8.
Occasional crash due to using Intersection object snaps on lightweight polylines.
Some corrupt drawings crash when opened or saved and are not fixed automatically.
Exiting the Text Editor while previewing text style causes a crash.

Radial dimensions for regions can become associated to wrong arc.
Dimension text background fill cannot be reset in Properties.
Jogged radial dimensions in paper space may reflect the wrong value of an extruded cylinder in model space.

MONOCHROME BITMAP attached in DWG file is not shown correctly.

INQUIRY

MASSPROP reports an incorrect mass and centroid for a solid swept along a planar spline.

MLeader

Multileader scale is not always updated when multileader style is changed.

Model Documentation - Detail View

Changing the Hatch property of a Detail view derived from a Section view sometimes causes AutoCAD to hang.

Modify

Ellipse is sometimes distorted during stretching.

MTEXT

The font doesn't match the setting in -STYLE command in Windows 8.

Plot

There is a black stripe when plotting some drawings with a clipped image.
A printer cannot be added after adding multiple driver folders in the Options dialog box.
Drawings cannot be plotted with the oversized paper size and transparency on.

Selection

Grips for attributes of blocks are not automatically made hot upon sub-selection.
Selection preview is reset to off when IntelliMouse^® zooming is ended.

Visual Lisp

DCL files whose code page matches the system but not the product are not recognized and loaded properly.

General

Saving some DWG files that contain 3D solids is slow.
A UCS other than the World UCS results in an incorrect location for the wipeout frame.
Prompts to save are not displayed when closing a hyperlink drawing that has been changed.
Performance is slow when saving the drawing created with Release 2010 and earlier.

Fixes in the previous AutoCAD 2013 Service Pack 1.1 are included.

AutoCAD Automation Tools 4.1 is now publicly released and makes it possible to update text found at a location by defining a rectangle with two coordinates. This is for example useful if a title block contains mtext or text objects not being part of an AutoCAD block object. The installers have also been updated to support AutoCAD 2014.

With AutoCAD Automation Tools multiple drawings can be automatically created from a typical drawing or updated based on a control file that can be created with an Excel template. Make the changes in Excel and let the program do all the work for you. This is a real time saver if you need to make adjustments on hundreds or thousands of drawings.

Autodesk DWG TrueView 2014 tips and tricks

Autodesk DWG TrueView 2014 is now available in English, Japanese and French. This software is built on the same viewing engine as AutoCAD 2014 but with much less functionality but enough to view, measure on and print drawings or DXF files with. DWG TrueConvert software is also included making it possible to batch convert drawings between different versions.

If you don’t want to install and use the Akamai NetSession Interface download manager click on “click here” at the bottom of this dialog box and then in the next dialog box click OK and you’ll be able to download through the browser instead.

Setup

When I downloaded I got the file SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_64bit.sfx.exe (334 MB, and SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_32bit.sfx.exe is 252 MB) that runs the new Autodesk Self Extract and when ready the actual setup started.

Cleanup after installation

After you have installed you may delete both SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_32bit.sfx.exe or SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_64bit.sfx.exe and SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_64bit or SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_32bit folder that the files were extracted to.

Deploying DWG TrueView

If you want to deploy DWG TrueView silently here is how, just make sure the .NET Framework prerequisites are already installed first and you will be able to script this or deploy using SMS or SCCM.

Here is how to install it the easiest way:
Setup.exe /q /w

alternatively specifying the ini file:
Setup.exe /q /w /i setup.ini

Optionally you can look at the setup.ini to just install what you want to install alternatively edit the ini and remove what you don’t want to include or for example change the installation path by editing INSTALL_PATH=%ProgramFiles%\Autodesk or remove the desktop shortcut by editing CREATE_DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=YES.

To uninstall DWG TrueView locate the GUID for the software. Look up this key in regedit.exe and then search for TrueView:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Below is what I found for DWG TrueView 2014 64-bit:

So either of these works fine, Passive display option. The installer displays a progress bar to the user that indicates that an installation is in progress but no prompts or error messages are displayed to the user.
MsiExec.exe /x {5783F2D7-D028-0409-0100-0060B0CE6BBA} /passive

Quiet display option. The installer runs an installation without displaying a user interface. No prompts, messages, or dialog boxes are displayed to the user.
Never restart option. The installer never restarts the computer after the installation.
MsiExec.exe /x {5783F2D7-D028-0409-0100-0060B0CE6BBA} /quiet /norestart

DWG TrueView 2014 does not support 3:rd party apps but both Regapp ID Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2013/2014 and Scale List Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2013/2014 from Autodesk works with DWG TrueView 2014.

Install

Recommended: Install all Windows Updates before installing the product.

Product Help

The product Help, the Driver and Peripheral Guide, and the Readme are available in the Install directory Help folder after the installation. You can launch the Installation Help, System Requirements, or the Readme during installation or after the product is installed.

Point Cloud

You cannot view certain point cloud files in DWG TrueView if your graphics card does not support OpenGL® 3.3 or later. In addition, you cannot view these files in a Windows remote desktop session.

Platform

Installing the 32-bit version of Autodesk^® DWG TrueView 2014 on a 64-bit platform is not supported.

DWG Convert EXE's and ZIP's Fail

When you use DWG Convert to create an EXE or ZIP file, the file is not created. This usually occurs if you are using multiple languages. The names of the files generated by AutoCAD-based products use Unicode standards and can be shared internationally. However, WinZip and EXE use a technology that is currently not Unicode-compliant.
ZIP files with non-ASCII characters cannot be exchanged and unzipped between systems with different code pages. That should not prevent using accented or Asian characters that match or are included on the current code page (German characters on English or German operating systems should work. Japanese characters on Japanese operating systems - or where the code page is set to Japanese - should also work).

Opening Damaged Drawings

When opening a damaged drawing, a dialog box appears asking the user to fix the file with the Recover command. This command is not implemented in TrueView. Instead, use the Check and fix errors option as follows.
1. Click the DWG Convert button.
2. Select the damaged file.
3. Click Conversion Setups.
4. Select "Standard" and click New.
5. Name the new setup (for example, Recover).
6. In the Modify Conversion Setup dialog box, set the Conversion packaged type to Folder (set of files).
  Note: Do not select in-place (overwrite files), as this may cause conversion errors.
7. In the Action area, select Check and fix errors, and click OK.

Autodesk Design Review 2014 is still not available.

SSMPropEditor 5.0 as AutoCAD app

SSMPropEditor 5.0 is now available as an AutoCAD app. SSMPropEditor is the Sheet Set Manager Properties Editor for AutoCAD based products.

SSMPropEditor 5.0 can now be downloaded and installed as an app from the Autodesk Exchange Apps site. Purchase is also available through this site as well as from JTB World’s SSMPropEditor site.

Right now I noticed that it was featured on AutoCAD 2014’s welcome page.

In AutoCAD 2014 there is also a Featured Apps tab where I found it showing up.

When installed, SSMPropEditor will show up on the Plug-ins tab.

AutoCAD’s undocumented language and product command line switches

AutoCAD 2014 is available in 10 languages: English, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Traditional Chinese. Japanese is also available but not as part of the AutoCAD 2014 Language Pack. Compared to AutoCAD 2013 this means that Russian, Czech, Hungarian and Polish are missing so far but according to Vladimir Michl at CAD Studio there will be CZ, HU, PL, RU localization of most 2014 products, as usual.

AutoCAD 2013 introduced a new New Language Packs functionality, rather than installing a full version of AutoCAD for each language, you install one full product and then add subsequent languages via Language Packs, resulting in smaller download and install time and space for the secondary languages. The same installation feature works also for AutoCAD Architecture, MEP, Mechanical, AutoCAD Structural Detailing where all are installed in for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013 or C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014 with for example AutoCAD Architecture in the subfolder ACA. Registry wise you can find the installed products and their locale in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R19.0\InstalledProducts

Here is what it look like for the 2014 products where I have AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD Architecture 2014 both installed.

With the functionality introduced in the 2013 versions two new command line switches /product and /language were added for acad.exe even though undocumented.

To start AutoCAD Architecture this command line is used:
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\acad.exe" /ld "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\AecBase.dbx" /p "" /product "ACA" /language "en-US"

The text for the switch is "ACAD" (AutoCAD), "ACA" (AutoCAD Architecture), "MEP", "ACADM" (Mechanical) or "ASD" (AutoCAD Structural Detailing). Other vertical products like AutoCAD Map 3D installs into their own folder.

Install the language package that you like to use.

On the shortcut to start the other language note that the /language switch has been changed but the installation folder is still the same.

Autodesk Content Service Language Pack Hotfix note! “After installing a new language of AutoCAD 2014, Autodesk Content Explorer may fail to work. Download the multi-lingual Autodesk Content Service installer below to address this issue”

But here is a problem.

Autodesk Content Service version 3.0.84.0 is what comes with AutoCAD 2013.

After installing the “hotfix” the version is 3.0.84.1

But the version of Autodesk Content Service that comes with AutoCAD 2014 is 3.1.3.0

So on a system with only AutoCAD 2014 installed the hotfix will not be possible to install.

Scale List Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2013/2014

Scale List Cleanup Utility has been updated so it now works for both AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD 2014.

When a file contains excess scales, performance may be negatively affected. Eventually, the file may become unusable. To use the file, some scales must be removed. This utility repairs affected files by removing excess scales.

Nested external references (xrefs) may produce excess scales. To correct this problem, install AutoCAD 2008 Service Pack 1 or corresponding service packs for AutoCAD-based products. The Scale List Cleanup Utility repairs files affected before the necessary service pack was installed.

You can also clean affected files unattended from the Command prompt.

This utility works even without full AutoCAD. DWG TrueView 2013 can also be used.

Notes:

1. The Scale List Cleanup Utility repairs files affected before AutoCAD 2008 Service Pack 1 or corresponding service packs for AutoCAD-based products.

2. Drawings created by AutoCAD based vertical applications may have one scale that will not be removed by this utility.

Regapp ID Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD 2013/2014

Regapp ID Cleanup Utility has been updated so it now works for both AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD 2014.

When you delete an object with Extended Entity Data (xdata), a regapp ID remains in the application ID (APPID) symbol table. When a file contains excess unreferenced regapp IDs, performance and file size may be negatively affected.

This utility removes excess unreferenced registered application (regapp) IDs from multiple files simultaneously.

You can also clean affected files unattended from the Command prompt.

This utility works even without full AutoCAD. DWG TrueView 2013 can also be used.

The free utility is available here among Autodesk’s Updates & Service Packs.

How to fix error: ActiveX Server returned an error: Error loading type library/DLL

I just got this error running some AutoLISP code in AutoCAD 2014 that I know there is no error in.

I tried to repair the AutoCAD installation but it did not help so I tried a reinstall instead and that solved the issue.

I think this problem happened because I also have AutoCAD 2013 installed and applied the service pack to it after AutoCAD 2014 was installed.

AutoCAD 2014 supports VBA 64-bit

Yes, VBA is still available for AutoCAD in the latest 2014 even though it was not supposed to. 64bit VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is finally also available in 64-bit for AutoCAD. The performance problems, with previous releases of 64bit AutoCAD when using VBA, should be now be gone.

Note that 32bit VB6 controls will fail on 64bit.

The version of VBA that is available for AutoCAD 2014 is VBA 7.1.

Microsoft has introduced two new conditional compilation constants: “VBA7” and “Win64”.

#If VBA7 Then 'Use new VBA7 functionality #Else 'Use old VBA functionality #End If

The Win64 constant enables a separation between the 32 and 64 bit version of VBA and can be used to ensure that code is only executed when VBA runs in the correct mode.

For AutoCAD 2014 64-bit VBA is not supported on Windows XP Professional.

Command Line Enhancements

Yes, the command line does not go away soon, but rather has been improved quite a lot with AutoCorrect, AutoComplete, Adaptive Suggestions, Synonym Suggestions, Internet Search and more. Unfortunately not everything is yet included if you prefer to use the dynamic input only.

Binary Security

Remember AutoLISP and VBA Security Controls in AutoCAD 2013 SP1? Further work has been done to improve on the security to avoid DWG viruses, AutoLISP worms and the like.

File Tabs

Finally file tabs are included in the core.

Design Feed

Design Feed, accessible from the Autodesk 360 ribbon tab, displays a palette in which you can enter text messages and attach images to be shared online with colleagues, clients, and consultants through Autodesk 360. Posts appear with related drawings on the desktop, on the web, and across mobile devices.

Geolocation and Live maps

Support for Geographic locations has been significantly enhanced. It includes the same Coordinate System Library as AutoCAD Map 3D and new Autodesk Live Maps.

Reality Capture

Reality Capture enables you to take a 3D laser scan of an object, topography, a building or even an entire town and attach it to an AutoCAD drawing as point cloud data. You can then use it as a real‐world reference for your design work. This point cloud data is stored as thousands, even millions, of points in 3D space.

Point Cloud

Point cloud functionality is enhanced in AutoCAD 2014 to support inserting of Point Cloud Project (RCP) and Scan (RCS) files produced by Autodesk ReCap.

Finally there are also several minor updates like Arc Creation, FILLET and CHAMFER on Polylines and Xref Manager.

AutoCAD for Mac 2014 is not yet available.

Most of JTB World’s software just works with AutoCAD 2014 with no upgrade needed.

BricsCAD Sheet Set improvements and fixes

Almost two months ago BricsCAD Sheet Set functionality was added and I was not impressed. BricsCAD v13.1.11 is the most recent version but in BricsCAD v13.1.10 there were some improvements in this area:

SHEET SETS:

New Sheet dialog:
- added browse buttons for folder path and layout template.
- new number is entered automatically, based on current number of sheets and using the new 'SheetNumberLeadingZeroes' preference
- import from existing drawings: new sheets are automatically numbered, the sheet title can now be the drawing name, layout name or both.
- when creating new sheets, custom sheet properties are now copied into the new sheet(s).
Edit Custom properties: adding, editing and removing sheetset and sheet custom properties.
when a sheet is opened, paths are now being resolved (dst: NewSheetLocation, DefDwtLayout; dwg: AcSheetSetData).
a sheet can now be associated with another layout, when it is opened and the drawing is not found.
when creating a new subset, the parent subset's properties are now copied into the new subset.
Sheetset fields sometimes failed to update correctly.
when changing a property in a subset that contains nested subsets, the user is asked if he wants to apply the same change to the nested subsets.
Explorer: removed "Prompt for Template" property from sheetset/subset property view.
Explorer: added "New Subset" to the sheet context menu for inserting a new subset between existing sheets.
added automatic backup of DST files upon opening, controlled by the 'SheetSetAutoBackup' preference.
added sheetset XML import/export.

Version 13.1.6 included this fix:

SHEET SETS: fields failed to update.

Version 13.1.7 included these fixes:

SR37041 - Sheet Sets:

When a sheetset was modified 'Save changes?' dialog now appears before the Drawing Explorer closes; a Cancel button was added; when 'No' is chosen, the sheetset tree branch is restored to its original contents.
Improved finding the dst for for drawings coming from another location.

Version 13.1.8 included these fixes:

SR37058 - SHEET SETS:

Sheet sets coming from another location (or older application version) can contain paths that do not exist on the current system. These paths are now resolved as much as possible upon opening of the sheetset.
New Sheet Set dialog:
- reorganized pages
- display nested subsets
- display subsets also when creating sheetset from existing drawings
- added context menu to layout list for selecting none/all/first of drawing
Field dialog: sheetset fields value was not displayed unless one of the format types was selected.
Added 'total number of sheets' to sheetset properties and sheetset fields: SheetSet.SheetCount and Subset.SheetCount (BricsCAD-only field types).

How to rotate or twist the view in AutoCAD

Here are some AutoLISP commands that can be useful if you want to rotate or twist the view. Change 90 to any other angle if you like. For counterclockwise change to –90. If you have a recent version of AutoCAD and just want 90 degrees relative rotation use the built in ViewCube functionality and the two arrows at the top right.

The DVIEW command can be used to also manually to twist the view using the twist option that twists or tilts the view around the line of sight. The twist angle is measured counterclockwise, with 0 degrees to the right.

The AutoCAD system variable VIEWTWIST stores the view rotation angle for the current viewport measured relative to the WCS and is also named as “Roll angle” (Displays the rotation angle of the view within your viewing plane, which is a plane parallel to your monitor's screen.) in the View Manager. This is being used for rotating the view relative the current rotation.

AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 Service Pack 1 Hotfix 1

AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 Service Pack 1 Hotfix 1 addresses issues reported by customers who use the Customer Error Reporting (CER) utility.

Updates have been made in the following commands and features:

· A fatal error can occur when opening the Properties panel after selecting features in offline mode (MAPWORKOFFLINE).

· AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 becomes unstable after deleting AdeTopView objects.

· AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 becomes unstable when a value in registry exceeds 1024 characters.

· AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 cannot be launched once AutoCAD Map 3D 2010 has been uninstalled.

· AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 becomes unstable when moving the cursor over a polygon feature if other Autodesk products are installed in the same machine.

The following issues have been fixed:

· Some commands like MAPPOLYLINETOPOLYGON and MAPTOPOLOGYTOPOLYGONS can only be invoked once. Any further attempt to use the commands will not work.

· The last used setting of label creation is remembered on the Choose label definition dialog.

INDUSTRY MODEL

· Industry Model Structure Update with Genx file which GeomSelectStatement is NULL will not result in invalid geometry select statement

USER & WORKSPACE

· Oracle user permission for workflows is now working for Map Client and application extension.

VECTOR SYMBOLIZATION

· Special characters (especially German characters) are now converted correctly by the “Convert Blocks” tool.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1

Here’s what Autodesk says about SP1 for Civil 3D 2013:

In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues discovered by customers and by Autodesk's internal testing team.

This Service Pack includes all previous hotfixes for AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. It also includes the fixes included in AutoCAD 2013 Service Pack 1.1 and AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 Service Pack 1.

Note: This update applies to all language versions and to versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 with previous hotfixes applied. Before applying this update, make sure that any customizations made to the user profile (such as, customizations made to the support file search paths, print file customizations, printer support file paths, redirections, custom template settings, and so on) are exported to a secure location, then imported and reapplied after the update has been successfully installed. You cannot run an automatic uninstall to remove this update. To restore your version of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 to its pre-update state, uninstall AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 and reinstall it.

The following issues have been resolved in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 Service Pack 1:

.NET API

The IsUsed property in StyleBase now reports whether a style is in use by an AutoCAD Civil 3D object.

Cogo

The COGO Editor now accepts Degrees/Minutes/Seconds in a spaced format.
The COGO Editor now retains the saved value in the description field.

Corridor Design

An issue with the Offset End Station value that prevented a drawing from opening has been resolved.
Switching between drawings while Station Tracker is enabled no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
An issue that caused errant feature lines to be generated between stations has been resolved.

Corridor Volumes

An issue where cut/fill volume shading was displaying incorrectly in some cross sections has been resolved.

Cross Section Views

The Update Section View Layout command no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
Opening a AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 drawing containing the OverlayAndMill subassembly no longer results in a display issue with the section views.

Cross Sections

Selecting multiple existing polylines when creating sample lines no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.

Data Exchange

An imported structure will now use the expected dimension rather than the dimension of the first structure of the imported group.

Feature Lines

Creating feature lines from objects when the objects are overlapping closed polylines no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.

General/Other

An issue that caused an error when closing a drawing has been resolved.
An issue that caused an error when starting AutoCAD Civil 3D after migrating settings from a previous release has been resolved.
The stability of the Audit command has been improved.
Using the Move/Copy/Rotate Express Tool after grip editing an object no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
In drawings with a custom UCS, switching from the model tab to the layout tab will no longer reset model tab to isometric.
Using your mouse wheel to pan while in a command no longer causes an unexpected error.
Deleting the last remaining layout while set to model viewin that layout no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
File sync of custom Tool Palettes has been disabled.
Opening a drawing by double-clicking on the file no longer causes an unexpected error.
The performance of tooltips has been improved.
North rotation is now calculated as expected between Coordinate Settings and Geolocation.
An issue that caused an error when saving a drawing has been resolved.

Grading

An error while using the Grade to Surface command has been resolved.
Deleting a PI from a feature line no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.

Hydraflow Storm Sewers

Storm Sewer calculations have been clarified to follow methodologies according to HEC-22.
Storm Sewers using HDS-5 inlet control option now report expected results.
The following issues related to inlet calculations and reporting have been resolved:
- Inlet section view displays spread correctly in 2D when depression is ignored.
- Slotted drains in sag condition now calculate expected depth and spread values while transitioning between weir and orifice flow.
- Open Area Design calculations are now less than or equal to the product of grate length and width.
- A column in theInteractive Designer is now labeled "Local Depression" to be consistent with the data-entry field.

Hydraflow Express

The following issues related to Inlet calculations and reporting have been resolved:
- Inlet Section View display shows spread correctly in 2D when depression is ignored.
- Slotted drains in sag condition now calculate expected depth and spread values while transitioning between weir and orifice flow.
- Open Area Design calculations are now less than or equal to the product of grate length and width.
The following issues related to culvert calculations and reporting have been resolved:
- Circular culverts now report consistent tailwater results as expected across a flow range.
- Elliptical culvert calculations now report expected headwater values above the crown of the pipe.

Hydraflow Hydrographs

Hydrograph plots are now displayed correctly on computers running Windows XP 32-bit.

Inquiry

Switching between drawings while the Profile View Elevation and Grade Between Points inquiry command is active no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.

Labels

An issue where referenced pipe spanning labels list the incorrect distance after reopening a drawing has been resolved.
An issue where referenced pipe network labels in section view disappear after reopening a drawing has been resolved.
Wipeout frames used in styles now display as expected.

LandXML

When importing LandXML data, alignments are now imported to the specified drawing layer.

Object Enabler

Importing a drawing using Navisworks Manage 2013 no longer results in the application becoming unresponsive or closing unexpectedly.

Parcels

Deleting a PI of a perimeter parcel no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.

Pipe Networks

Solid hatching now displays as expected in profile views.
Issues recognizing the correct Manning roughness n-value for parts has been resolved.
Pipe length data is now available in structure tables displaying connected pipes.
Synchronizing a pipe network with a part swapped in the source drawing now updates the style as expected.

Points

Creating a point no longer fails if a survey point with the same number already exists in the drawing.
Assigning user-defined properties to a point group from the Summary tab no longer results in the application closing unexpectedly.
The next point number is now assigned correctly when creating points from objects.

Pressure Networks

Deleting pressure networks while the Pressure Network panorama is open no longer causes the program to close unexpectedly.
Minimum radius values for curved pipes are now updated when changing pipe sizes during layout.
Quantity takeoff reports now list lengths of pressure pipe when linear pay items are assigned.

Profiles

Grip editing a PVI marker with OSNAP enabled no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
Linetypes used for profiles that are referenced now appear as expected.

Project Management

Drawings with circular dependencies now generate a prompt when being checked in.
An error is no longer generated when checking in a drawing with a reference, when the reference drawing is checked out by another user.

Quantity Takeoff

The Pay Item and Pay Item Categorization files now default to the previously browsed path.

Reports

The PVI Station and Curve report is now generated correctly when the ambient setting for Grade/Slope format is set to Per Mille.

Shortcuts

An issue that allows the same profile object to be mapped to two different parent alignments has been resolved.
Performance when opening a drawing containing references has been improved.

Superelevation

The diagram in the Create Superelevation View dialog box is now displayed as expected when the alignment is referenced.

Surface

Watershed analysis performance on DEM surfaces has been improved.
The Drape Image command no longer results in a reversed image when hardware acceleration is enabled.
The stability of the Level of Detail command has been improved.
The stability of the Resolve Crossing Breaklines command has been improved.

Survey

The lower pane of Figure Properties dialog box now displays the Import Events as expected.
Modifying figure data in Figure Properties dialog box no longer causes the application to close unexpectedly.
Editing Chain Type Figure Properties no longer causes the layer to reset to 0.

Note: Unless indicated otherwise, this information applies to the 2013-2010 versions of all Autodesk products. Autodesk product versions of 2009 and earlier are no longer supported and are not included in considerations of Windows 8 compatibility.

Solution

Autodesk intends to support many of our key products on Windows 8 and will add additional products to the list of products supported on Windows 8 as updates and future versions are released. Product Support will provide its best effort to assist customers who have issues with products that are not currently supported.

AutoCAD MASSPROP Hotfix

If you are using MASSPROP and an AutoCAD 2013 based product this hotfix is for you.

According to DL20864100 from where you can download it: Autodesk MASSPROP Hotfix. This hot fix addresses an issue with the MASSPROP command returning an error or invalid results on certain solids created by extruding regions along closed polylines.

This hotfix applies to the Service Pack 1 or 1.1 levels of AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD 2013-based vertical products: AutoCAD 2013, AutoCAD Architecture 2013, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, AutoCAD ecscad 2013, AutoCAD Electrical 2013, AutoCAD Mechanical 2013, AutoCAD MEP 2013, AutoCAD P&ID 2013, AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013, AutoCAD Raster Design 2013 and AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2013
