Junior High was awful. I survived. Thankfully, in my liberal Public High School I had very little harassment and things turned around for me for the positive there.

I hope that the recent legislation will in turn not only penalize hate crimes and enforce policies to help individuals, but eventually change attitudes.

The first one I was going to go with an elderly person who just needed someone to verify what the site was before they looked at it, but then I realized that you said they claimed to be reading it from a business card. Weird.

On the second one, I’m guessing they had a tiff with said “J” user and want to avoid having their IP address logged. Yet, somehow it seems fitting that in Utah a person might think it’s a more acceptable excuse to claim spying on one’s own household. :)

Yes, you can, and I’m actually a good person to go to in the library if you want one. But I have no way of knowing if that’s what this patron wanted, because he wouldn’t tell me.

I guess the moral of that story is: if you want an interlibrary loan, it’s best that you ask for it. And if you don’t know the correct term, explain what you want instead of hanging up on me when I don’t immediately understand you. Librarians can’t read minds. *sigh*
